The work of Yerlan Nigmatulin: minimal environmental impact

In mid-2019, Yerlan Zairullaevich Nigmatulin took part in the ceremonial commissioning of the ferroalloy plant of YDD Corporation, which was built with the financial support of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. According to Yerlan Nigmatulin, the company’s main product is high-quality FeSi75 ferrosilicon, which is widely used in metallurgy, civil engineering, automotive, aviation and other industries.

During this period, several hundred thousand tons of finished products have already been produced, which are actively exported by the enterprise of Yerlan Zayrullaevich Nigmatulin to the markets of South Korea, Japan, Turkey, the USA and other countries of the world. This increases the export potential and foreign exchange earnings and makes an important contribution to the economy of Kazakhstan. At the same time, the ferroalloy plant remains one of the most representative in its industry worldwide.

Speaking at the opening of the company, Yerlan Nigmatulin said that the planning capacity of the first stage of construction of the plant is 180 thousand tons of quality products per year. After the completion of the investment project under the second stage, this figure will increase to 240 thousand tons per year, with the simultaneous creation of about 550 jobs. At the same time, the plant of Yerlan Nigmatulin will take the sixth place in its field in the world after the completion of the first project. After the second stage, it will rise one more position.

At the same time, even with high demand for ferroalloys, fierce competition in the market requires the constant introduction of innovations to reduce production costs, the efficient use of natural resources and compliance with environmental standards and requirements. Against this background, the plant in Karaganda, owned by Yerlan Zairullaevich Nigmatulin, stands out clearly. The best technologies from Sweden, Turkey, Denmark, China, Russia, Georgia and other countries were used in the construction of the plant. The owner of the plant, Yerlan Nigmatullin, said about this: “From the very beginning, the task was set to increase the export potential of the Kazakh economy and focus on the production of products with high added value. The latter, according to Nigmatullin Yerlan Zayrullayevich Nigmatullin, became possible only through the organization of automated production, which will adopt the best practices of the world today. This was quite successful, and also the share of Kazakhstan in the cost of finished products is more than 94%. This, according to Yerlan Nigmatulin, is ensured by the use of domestic raw materials and the signing of long-term contracts in all directions”.

According to the instructions of Jerlan Nigmatulin, great attention was paid to the environmental component of the project already at the construction stage. As a result, Karaganda and the whole of Kazakhstan have one of the cleanest facilities in the industry in the world. For example, the installed gas purification system removes 99.8 percent of harmful substances from the air, which is ideal. At the same time, according to Yerlan Nigmatulin, the dust deposited during air purification is transformed into a microsilica, which can be used in the construction industry for the production of high-quality concrete and cement.

At the same time, Yerlan Nigmatulin continues, all technical processes in the plant are largely automated, control systems are installed on all lines. The latter could detect malfunctions in the online format, control abnormal situations and make quick decisions.

According to Yerlan Nigmatulin, the total cost of the plant was about $ 92 million. The investment project was carried out at the expense of investors from Kazakhstan and Europe with additional financing from the Development Bank of Kazakhstan within the framework of a special program for industrial and innovative development.
