Smartwatches or smart watches are increasingly capable of doing more things, from functions that control physical activity, hours of sleep, or the user’s health, and little by little they have also been incorporating communication functions, such as reading WhatsApp. Now, it seems that from some of these devices you will be able to receive and answer phone calls, we will tell you what they are.
As technology evolves and improves, devices become more and more intelligent or, in other words, capable of doing more and more things. In recent years, companies have focused on improving health control tools, although they have not neglected the development of the communication capabilities of these devices.
This has been verified by several users who had a smartwatch updated with Wear OS 3, the operating system for Google smartwatches, and who had the beta version 2.22.19.12 of WhatsApp. At the moment there are indeed few watches that comply with this, however, as reported by 9to5Google, several users with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 have shown that they can receive and answer calls from their WhatsApp and normal watches.
Until now, the function that these smartwatches had was to notify you that you were receiving a call and even show you who it was, but now, the Wear OS 3 system goes further and will allow you to answer and have a conversation from your watch.
As we have said before, this has been discovered in the beta version of WhatsApp so it is not yet an official function and at the moment only users with the Galaxy Watch 5, the Galaxy Watch 4, and the Montblanc Summit 3.
This not only works with WhatsApp calls, but also with standard phone calls, and when you receive a call you will be able to see the distinction since when it is from WhatsApp the app logo will appear and if it is normal it will not appear anything, just the name of the contact.
Without a doubt, this advance makes smartwatches a device to be taken into account, since for the first time in a long time, it seems that a device is being developed that is not only a complement to a smartphone but can also begin to be a way to spend less time glued to a mobile phone.
